Dear Diary,
As you know, I only travel with carry on bags due to multiple trips with luggage issues. I was ecstatic when I learned I could cut my alcohol cost by being able to pack miniature alcohol bottles in my carry on. According to TSA: all liquids must not exceed 3 ounces and must be stored in a clear bag. Well, the mini alcohol bottles meet these requirements #LITTTTT. You can stop by the package (liquor) store and find the minis right at the front counter. These bottles go as low as .99 cents. That’s way less than the 8-15 dollars you’ll be paying each time you want to go to a bar. Also, the package store usually has a larger variety than what you’ll get in flight service.
Keep in mind; it is ILLEGAL to consume your own alcohol on a plane (Annnnnd to give alcohol to anyone under 21….and to drink and drive….and you get the point). You are supposed to be served by the flight attendants (so they can monitor your alcohol intake) just as bartenders do. If you want to guzzle, I was told you could just give your bottle to a flight attendant and have them serve you–I haven’t tried this yet, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. I suggest just saving your bottles until you touch down & pregame in your hotel. Nobody wants to be on a flight full of drunks anyway and you don’t want to miss your trip because you got arrested for illegal activity.
Disclaimer: I am NOT responsible for anyone that chooses to drink on a plane. I am simply stating you are permitted to carry on your own bottles, which can help save you money on vacation. Please drink responsibly and don’t ruin things for others.
